TWHL11 Entry Draft This draft is a trainwreck. The weakest draft in a long time, the draft is littered with TWHL15 retirees (22 at last count), and few players that can step in and play on the top three lines. In fact, six of the top seven players in the draft are on the TWHL15 retirement list, with Carlo Colaiacovo being the only exception. Any team who was looking to pick up serious talent in this draft is going to have to make some hard choices. There are two impact players in the draft - Mikhail Yakubov and Pavel Vorobiev. Both are on the TWHL15 retirement list. As the TWHL is getting into a serious player shortage, these players are no longer sure-fire 1st and 2nd overall picks. I'm projecting them to be the 4th and 5th overall picks, as rebuilding teams cannot afford to pick up retirees. I'm probably wrong here, as elite players are always in demand. I'm thinking that it's likely that a couple of teams who are looking to contend next year will trade for the first and second overall picks, and draft Yakubov and Vorobiev. Alternatley, they will be traded after being drafted. In any case, I can't see a team with a long-term rebuilding plan (Rome/London?) picking either of these guys and holding on to them. For each player, I've done a brief overview, and identified any adjustments that I made for several categories: Retirement: (Excellent is a solid NHLer, Terrible is a solid SELer) Rerate: Eligiblity for an ATB rerate is excellent. Farm: Eligiblity to be put on the farm is worth a bonus, doubly so if the player doesn't need multiple TCs/PRBs Impact: The few players who can have an immediate impact are noted.
